How to care for brows after permanent makeup

Healing week by week, what to do and avoid in the first days, and when the tone comes back.

How to care for brows after permanent makeup

The result is 50% the artist and 50% how you treat your brows for the first fortnight. Here is everything you need.

The first 24 hours

The brows weep a little lymph — blot it gently with a clean tissue, without pressing or rubbing. Sleep so your face is not buried in the pillow.

Healing day by day

  • Day 1. Darker and more contrasted than the final result. That is normal, not a mistake.
  • Days 2–4. Slight swelling, dryness, mild itching. The tone goes darker still.
  • Days 5–7. A thin crust forms and starts to flake. Do not pick it — pigment comes away with it and leaves patches.
  • Days 8–14. The colour fades so much it can look like nothing is left. This is a normal stage, not a failed procedure.
  • Days 15–30. The tone gradually returns and evens out.
  • Weeks 4–8. The final result, and the point at which we do a touch-up if one is needed.

Avoid for the first 10–14 days

  • Sauna, steam room, swimming pool, the sea, sunbeds.
  • Sport that makes you sweat heavily — sweat flushes pigment out.
  • Scrubs, peels, acids and retinol on the face.
  • Makeup on the brows.
  • Picking the crusts or scratching.

What to do

  • Apply the product I gave you in a thin layer, as often as I told you.
  • Wash your face so the water does not run straight over the brows.
  • Once healed, use SPF on the brows on every sunny day. It is the single biggest thing that extends the result.

When to message me

If you get heavy swelling, pain that keeps increasing, or any discharge with pus, do not go to forums — message me straight away. Normal healing is boring: a little dryness, a little flaking, and that is it.

A question about your own brows?

Message me on WhatsApp — I will look at your case and tell you what suits you.
